About us

The Light of the North is the Light of the Spirit and Soul in the Human Being.

Pohjolan Valo seeks to align itself with the Energies, Plans and Purposes of the Spiritual Hierarchy of our Planet. This Hierarchy, composed of spiritually mature souls who have triumphantly passed through all the trials and tests to be met in the human family, is the "Inner Government of Our Planet". There are many names for the Hierarchy. "The Great White Brotherhood" is one. Others are, "The Church Universal and Triumphant", "The Society of Organized and Illumined Minds" and "The Great Ashram".

The Teaching which the Spiritual Hierarchy has given to humanity is known as the "Ageless Wisdom". This Wisdom is comprehensive and non-dogmatic, appearing in different forms in numerous racial, ethnic and national traditions throughout the world.

Our purpose is to promote the understanding and practice of the Ageless Wisdom through ceremonial service, meditation and study. Pohjolan Valo ry functions mainly at "Rauhanlinna"--the "Castle of Peace". We are mindful of the Great and Beautiful Peace which must one day be expressed through humanity and the Earth.

As Pohjolan Valo is an organization with Finnish origin, we are interested in the deep occultism of the Kalevela--the Great Finnish National Epic--and its intimate relation to the many Wisdom Traditions in human and planetary history.

At the center of Pohjolan Valo is found the inner “Temple of Silence” established for purposes of communion with the 'Inner Silence', the 'Inner Reality' of the human being. Temple is the 'Silent Centre of Love, Light and Power' within every human being. When we are in communion with this 'Silent Center', the divine energies will flow into the consciousness of the Temple Server, and he or she can work in co-creatorship with the Plans and Purposes of the Spiritual Hierarchy of our planet.

Within the Temple is found the "Flame of Silence"--an 'Eternal Flame' representing the 'Eternal Spirit' in humanity. Esoterically, Spirit is a Flame, and the "Flame of Silence" reminds us of the illumined silent synthesis at the very heart of our nature.

In the outer Temple of Silence we offer ceremonial services for the purification, upliftment and illumination of the human soul. Through meditation, music and the various ceremonial arts we seek to commune with the higher energies (among them the angels) who seek to assist with the development of human evolution.

Pohjolan Valo works in cooperation with the University of the Seven Rays (USA), sponsors classes in Esoteric Astrology, Esoteric Psychology and Synthetic Esoteric Studies (such as a study of the great book, A Treatise on Cosmic Fire)

Additionally, seminars on The Seven Rays and Esoteric Astrology are offered to help participants understand the "Language of Energy" underlying planetary, solar systemic and cosmic processes.
